Some History
- On March 31st, 1998 the first developer release of the source code to Communicator was made available.
- In September of 1998 mozilla.org began making nightly binaries available for testing on Mac, Linux and Windows.
- In October of 1998 mozilla.org began the effort of replacing much of the 5.0 codebase with a new XPFE architecture based on the new NGLayout rendering engine.
- On June 5th, 2002 mozilla.org released Mozilla 1.0.
